After both attended Texas Tech University and Matt received his Masters in AgEd, the couple met and soon married. As newlyweds, Matt and Jessica Norton started their life together with a vision of creating a place where they could share their knowledge and love of agriculture with the community—a place that would bring families and friends together to create exciting traditions and make wonderful memories—so they set out on an adventure that has blossomed into Fiddlesticks Farms. The couple continues to add attractions each year…in August 2012, the couple’s new addition was their first child, a handsome little boy named Trail Myers and in 2015, they welcomed their second little boy named Crease Walker!
Matt and Jessica both have a passion for agriculture and wanted to share that heritage with others in a unique way that would entertain as well as educate.
The young couple hatched a plan to establish Fiddlesticks Farms corn maze & pumpkin patch. It would fulfill their desire to share agriculture with the public and compliment their authentic farming operation.
Fiddlesticks Farms is an agri-tourism attraction just east of Midland in the small farming community of Greenwood. The farm’s main attraction is the corn maze where you can get lost for a while. There are many other fall and farm related activities such as the corn cannon, cow train, and hay ride to the pumpkin patch.
What’s a farm without farm animals??? Check out the Learning Barn to see chickens, pigs, sheep and cows — and if you’re lucky you can watch a live milking demonstration in the South West Dairy Milking Parlor.
On weekdays, schools from the Permian Basin and surrounding communities are invited to attend field trips in October and November to experience a slice of farm life. The weekends are reserved for guests from all over to come visit and make memories with family and friends.
